ABOUT MIKE

Portland, OR born & raised. Working full time from my NE Portland glass studio, alongside my partner Sam and our little black tuxedo cat, Janet. Rest easy my sweet one (Jan 2024).

Why glass? The volleyball coach at my SE Portland highschool randomly taught a stained glass class in the dark, dingy basement that previously served as the school’s boys’ locker room. We rinsed projects over shower and urinal drains. I fell for stained glass instantly in that shithole of a basement.

Simply put, breaking glass and melting metal feels gooood. It feels incredibly rewarding using my hands to make something lasting that transmits and refracts light in new ways.

I really hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it.
